I’ve always had a knack for writing. As a kid, aggressive journaling about my feelings was a beloved pastime. I still do that, though there are less prose about how annoying my brother is and more about how devastated I was when Hopper died (or so we thought).
Yet, even with that obvious affinity, I never considered “writing.”
There were none to speak of growing up. I knew my doctors, my teachers, my neighborhood loggers, school magicians, nice nurses at my appointments, and the guy at the dump.
But I never knew “writers,” and that was certainly never mentioned as a career opportunity. When I pictured these people behind the words, I imagined these recluse, librarian types. “Writers” were as imaginary and fictional to me as unicorns and wizards.
So, as I moved through school and into college, I set myself up to be some sort of healthcare professional. If I’m honest, I never really knew what I wanted to be. All I really did know was that I seemed to be meeting the expectations of those around me.
How SEO Content Entered My Life
And while I still journaled my little heart out, I was never set to write anything else.
That was until my first office job. First, I was just writing quotes, but that soon became drafting marketing material to help with the workload of their one-woman marketing team.
She mentioned “keywords” and “search engines” and other strange words, but I never knew what she meant. I liked her, I wanted to help her, and that’s what I did. While I was writing content (ads, sales materials, and the occasional tagline), she told me that the attention the website was getting had increased.
For some reason, she attributed that to me. But, to be fair, it was all still so murky that I just nodded along and thanked her.
That trend continued, but my goals for college and career never changed. They never even waivered…
Until the pandemic, I continued doing a little content here and there. By word of mouth, I’d get “clients” that I’d help out, but it was more for the fun than anything. You’ll see that trend of randomness in my resume.
When COVID-19 took everything over, I finally looked at my little side thing as a real opportunity. With the encouragement of my partner, I slowly put down my work to get more consistent and continuous jobs on Upwork.
I made myself a unicorn (also known as a writer), and now, I’ll never go back.
How I Work
Because this was started for love and for the good of the business owners I worked for, I’ve remained quite flexible in my process. Ultimately, I’m here to fit your needs, and that’s what I try to do.
For example, if a client needs an email campaign because they worked really hard on this one product that’s not getting enough attention, that is a completely different development process than SEO copywriting or even ad copywriting.
But, no matter what writing service of mine you choose, you’ll be able to expect a high standard of quality and communication throughout the entire process. You’ll also be able to expect:
A deep dive into competitor’s practices that includes scouring their websites and branding materials for what they are doing right (and what they are doing wrong)
Content tailored to your target audience, along with “personas” that other marketing team members can use if they’ve not developed one themselves
Time-sensitive keyword research that explores all the possible ways your clients and consumers can find you
Optimization-focused content that checks all of your boxes
Finding someone to trust with your brand messaging is tough. And if you are concerned about any part of the project, please feel free to
book a 15-minute discussion.
My focus is the well-being of both you and your brand, so if you’ve got questions, please feel free to reach out and ask them.
You Need Creative aND Strategic
Digital content needs to be fresh, informative, connective, and optimized. This is not even to mention creative and strategic.
You already have so much going on. Outsourcing can be a great way to get the job done, get that fresh perspective, and be sure all your needs are met.
